Helping adults & couples discover who they really are, what they truly want, and how to get there.

Here’s the sitch: Whatever you’ve done to make it through life in the past isn’t working for you anymore. And you don’t know why. You’re feeling down, angry, or filled with a sense of shame or unworthiness you can’t put your finger on, because you know (in your head) that you’re a catch.

Your career feels overwhelming or stagnant. Your relationships are suffering, and even though you feel isolated and alone, the thought of being fully seen by getting closer or really intimate with someone can, frankly, feel terrifying. You may feel targeted by systemic issues of oppression nobody wants to acknowledge or fix.

Maybe, even though you have a lot of good things in your life, you just don’t feel good, emotionally, physically or otherwise.

What can you do? The first step is finding support.

Your life can change. And for the better. While we may not always be able to change the external circumstance, we can change the way we respond to those circumstances.

It’s been said the definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. But have you ever really delved into why you did that thing in the first place?

I’m here to tell you - there’s a good reason for it - and it’s not your fault. In fact, your exquisite adaptive intelligence got you here - and for that, we’re grateful.

But now it’s time to try something different.

To be guided on your journey of transformation: to feel heard, to deeply understand your history and habits, and get out of this rut by unlocking the emergent potential for balance and ease that already exists within you.

By slowing down and creating space for wellbeing, we’ll recognize that “slow is fast,” and that many of the answers we’ve looked for “out there,” have been here all along.

If you get nothing else out of what I’ve said so far, know this:

You matter, and you make sense.

There’s a reason why you do the thing you do that isn’t working for you, and together we can figure out what that is, and invite transformative change.

Hi, I’m Francesca Maximé, LCSW, LICSW NY, FL & MA

I’m a Haitian-Dominican Italian-American somatic psychotherapist and antiracism educator. I host the ReRooted podcast on Ram Dass’s Be Here Now Network on spirituality, mindfulness, trauma, neuroscience and the creative arts. I’m an award-winning poet and trauma educator, keynote speaker, and former television news anchor.

There are lots of other things I could say about myself, but let me say this: for years, I tried traditional therapy - I knew the “bad things'' that had happened to me, the ways in which I had a “good childhood,” but still had this nagging sense that my needs weren’t met. I had losses, trauma, and relationship ruptures that cut very deep. And yet - when I discovered the winning trifecta of Buddhist psychology/mindfulness, somatic work and neuroscience, everything changed. Everything started to make sense!

And from that place, I could unburden and unpack all the beliefs I held, the limitations I’d felt, and the ways in which I felt trapped. I moved from anxiety and a feeling of “not enough” to a greater sense of wholeness and wellbeing. After nearly two decades as a television news anchor, I pivoted to doing the kind of work I’m now offering you: because I want to offer to you the tools and insights that have been so transformative to me, and pass it forward.
